About your host:

Ann Lara has a true passion for the Osa Peninsula and has been traveling to this area for almost 20 years! She doesn't just tell you where to go, but she will personally take you there!!  She has been able to  integrate her dream and vision to create the perfect combination: Therapeutic bodywork, active lifestyle, living in the now,  and the wonders of the Osa Peninsula. Check out some of the reviews from the last Retreat. It is a holistic package for both body and spirit with a crazy twist of adventure! It is a very intentional, specific, detail oriented trip that people have described as a "once in a lifetime experience" and "so amazing it is hard to describe." The area has been referred to as the Garden of Eden, heaven on earth.....paradise! Ann will take you on a journey of body,  mind, and spirit that you have never experienced before!

About your local guides: I have chosen only THE VERY BEST.

Eddie grew up in this forest and knows it intimately. His knowledge of the local flora and fauna is amazing. He also has an eagle eye and spots animals that you would never see otherwise. Eddie is extremely friendly and helpful and is one the best tour guides that we have ever had! He truly depicts Pura Vida!

Andy is a talented and extremely educated guide that makes your hikes in the rain forest super fun! He has been voted one of the top guides for our retreats year after year!

Pollo, our surf instructor, is  the very best! He was also born and raised here in Cabo Matapalo and he knows his stuff! It is so exhilarating to watch these ladies get up on the board for the very first time!

Activity Level:

Moderate to Active. You must be able to either run 3 miles or hike 5 miles of hills easily several times a week. In addition, you will need to do core and upper body strengthening. Due to the remote area where we are traveling, this trip is not recommended for those that have any major medical issues. The closest clinic is 35 minutes away, and the closest hospital is approx. 2 hours away.

Weather:

January is the Costa Rican summer and is generally drier,  temperatures in the low 70's and highs in the low 90's, giving plenty of sun filled days on the beach, and calmer waters for kayaking, surfing, swimming, and fishing. This gives you a general idea but, of course we are talking about weather, so it is subject to change.

Reservations:

We are currently taking deposits for reservations now. It will be on a first come, first serve basis. Space is very limited so if you are interested, book now! We will accept cash, check or Credit Cards/Paypal (there is a 3% surcharge on all credit card transactions). The deposit will be $800.00. Final payment will be due 120 days prior. Please DO NOT purchase your flights until we have confirmation that the trip is full. When we receive your deposit, we will send you a confirmation, trip contract, along with a liability waiver form, and information on where to purchase the mandatory travel/medical insurance.

Event Refund/Cancellation Policy:

Event Cancellation by Wellness Adventures:

  • Wellness Adventures reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable.  If Wellness Adventures cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund.

Event Registration Cancellation by Participant:

  • Cancellation Policy:  A participant CANNOT cancel their registration once the deposit and contract have been processed.

  • Transfer Policy: A participant may transfer their spot to a new participant as long as the proper documentation has been completed.  The original participant is responsible for the full amount until the new participant has made their payment.  If the new participant does not make the necessary payment, the original participant is responsible for the remainder.  After a full payment is received, any refunds will be administered at that time.
